Farris is also an FEI (International/Olympic) veterinarian in the sport of Eventing and Show Jumping. An eventer and FEI dressage rider for thirty years, Dr. Farris moved her practice to Coupeville in 2010. (She also took a year off to race sled dogs in Alaska and Canada.) Dr. Farris also specialized in sport dog and sled dog medicine for sixteen years, and was one of the earliest members of the International Sled Dog Veterinary Medicine Association.
